The “Urban Fusion” workshop offers advanced and professional dancers the opportunity to fuse urban dance styles with contemporary movement vocabulary. From grooves and various movement qualities to shapes and flow, well-known tools from house, funk, hip-hop, contemporary dance and their intersections are explored. Through fresh ideas and impulses for self-creation, participants can develop their skills and artistic identity into new territories, regardless of whether their background is in urban or contemporary dance. Sharing their own insights with others and getting creative together as a group are essential components of the workshop.

Dhélé Agbetou feels at home in both urban and contemporary dance. He studied dance at the DansArt Academy in Bielefeld and jazz at the Centre International De Danse Rick Odums in Paris. In summer 2016, he completed the international program of the Israeli Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. As a dancer, Dhélé tours internationally and has won numerous hip hop battles in Germany, France, Israel, South Africa and Japan. For over 10 years, he has been committed to introducing children and young people to hip hop culture through dance. Among other things, he founded the Urban Stylez festival in Bielefeld, which now takes place internationally. In 2021, he received the Bielefeld Culture Prize for his initiative. He is the youngest board member of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland, where he is committed to developing sustainable structures for the urban dance scene.
