Audition “RING” by Felix Ruckert
As part of the TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA 2024
This year's edition of the TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA will open with the re-staging of Felix Ruckert's “RING”. We are looking for approx. 20 professional dancers and ambitious amateur dancers to take part in a five-day rehearsal phase and the performances on July 30 (opening of the TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA 2024) and July 31, 2024 in the Muffathalle.
“RING” is a choreographic reflection on contact and closeness. In 1999, the production established a form of theater for which the term “immersive” became established only several years later. The performers are not just actors, but enter into a dialogue with the audience that goes beyond words. With fixed movement sequences and improvised play, they catalyze emotional reactions that can be the starting point for personal discoveries for the audience.
“RING” has been shown in over 30 cities worldwide since its premiere. 25 years later, as part of the “Living Archive” project of the City of Munich's Department of Culture the production is to be revived.
The audition will take place on June 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. at the Muffatstudio, Zellstraße 4, 81667 Munich.
We are looking for professional dancers and ambitious amateur dancers, preferably from the greater Munich area, who would like to participate as part of a larger cast (21 dancers) in a performance with a focus on physical contact and interaction with the audience.
The aim is to create a cast that is as diverse as possible, reflecting the plurality of the (city's) society and enabling a broad creative exchange. Rehearsals will take place from July 15 - 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the performances on July 30 and 31, 2024, both at 8.30 p.m., at the Muffathalle, Munich.
The payment is based on the minimum fees for freelance performers in the performing arts of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste. Unfortunately, costs for travel or accommodation cannot be covered.
